Gripping multi-layered story. Don't let the fact that it is sub-titled put you off - the sub titles are fine.
Makes you aware of what a great story on tv ican be. Does not sink to the lowest common denominator - treats the viewer with respect - something sorely missing in many programmes currently showing.
Settle in for a fast paced story that throws in as many red herrings as real story leads!Gripping multi-layered story. Don't let the fact that it is sub-titled put you off - the sub titles are fine.

If you are interested in the production of books and their history this is for you. A good read that keeps you on your toes as it moves between three timelines.

An insightful look at how American foreign policy is enacted and the many strands that have to be considered before implementation. Presents a look behind the scenes of a journalist who grew up in a war-torn country and how that has impacted on her view of the world. Excellent writing with a non-preachy view of how American foreign policy is so often misunderstood. An insightful look at how American foreign policy is enacted and the many strands that have to be considered before implementation. Another page turner of a novel from Stella Rimington. This one didn't have so much 'thinking' from the main character Liz Carlyle so as a reader you weren't really sure where she was going next. The storyline developed her relationship with Martin - an attainable goal! But a fast paced storyline that did keep me as a reader wondering how all the interconnecting story threads were going to be tied together.Another page turner of a novel from Stella Rimington. Another rip roaring read from Rory Clements. I am now a fan!
Set in Elizabethan times it gives you a cursory lesson in history of that time and the people involved. No loose ends in this story (my only complaint from the first of this series). The story cracks along at a page turning pace, but has enough pauses for you to catch your breath and keep up with the story. There was much deception and double dealings during this period of history.Another rip roaring read from Rory Clements. I am now a fan!

Just could not get into this book there were too many intro's to characters that appeared to be inter-related. Maybe I am used to thrillers that cut to the chase whereas this seemed to want to build on a rock solid foundation to start with. Took too long to engage me and I gave up.Just could not get into this book there were too many intro's to characters that appeared to be inter-related. A rolicking read - it does tear along at pace. The suspense keeps you turning the page, but somehow the ending did not satisfy. Maybe I had not expected the triumph of the machine and had hoped that human would prevail! It is a novel of our current times, especially with the Euro experiencing the problems it is, so read it now. I am not sure how this novel will age.A rolicking read - it does tear along at pace. For those with even a passing interest in Shakespeare/Elizabethan times this is a great read. The main character is based on the premise of being William Shakespeare's brother (the baird does make an appearance in the novel) as an investigator. The story is one of intrigue and is full of information about the time. It essentially follows the hunt for a murderer that entwines other true story lines. Due to the time it is set in, investigations take longer (one has to ride a horse to get from A to B rather than jump in a car!) so the story slowly unwinds. My only criticism is that the author leaves a few threads in the story untied at the end, but then again doesn't that happen in real life?!For those with even a passing interest in Shakespeare/Elizabethan times this is a great read. This was a random pick out from the library shelf. It is a mystery novel with a rural backdrop which is something I wouldn't normally read. Some of the author's other novels aluded to blood and gore but this one wasn't as graphic as I thought it would be, in fact on a par with any other novel in the genre. A multi-layered story. At the start it keeps you on your toes as several inter-connected strands have their stories started. Then it becomes an exciting page turner as the reader trys to ascertain how these seemingly unrelated strands come together. The base story is a frightening realistic tale of how innocent details become compelling links to a murder.A multi-layered story.
