Bram Stoker’s classic work “Dracula” creates a source of intrigue in the monster of the vampire. Through an extensive depiction of the central figure and the heroic quest to defeat him, Stoker invokes in the reader a variety of emotions…

Not a huge fan. I realize it's a classic for a reason, but it was just too drawn out for my liking. Almost the whole story is told through diary entries which was a little confusing for me to follow at times.

Considered to be the best vampire story ever told, it certainly wasn't "the first" (the first published vampire story, in English, was John Polidori's "The Vampyre" in 1819). Stoker's novel, however, still stands as the most influential,…

Stoker's classic story of vampires is widely used in popular culture as a reference for how to create horror. Likewise, modern readers will probably be familiar with the characters from their appearance in other books or movies. That being…

There are reasons why classic books are considered classics, and not just an old book; and I think this book is deserving of that title. Frightening, suspenseful, sometimes humorous and other times atmospheric, it is very evident how this…

Dracula by Bram Stoker is a classic about being open minded. The story vividly captures the elements of suspense, humor and irony in regards to the supernatural. The author presents the plot in epistolary form through the journal entries…

Okay so it’s a classic and wanted so badly to love it. But while the story itself is great. The novel really reads like that of a high school student who is trying to reach a word count in an essay by constantly repeating themselves. And…

Dracula is an amazing Classical book weaving components of mystery, dramatic irony, and Victorian values. Mina Harker is a strong witted and courageous character, which was different from Victorian norms. She is a true role model for…

Wow, I recommend Dracula to everyone, even people who are familiar or overfamiliar with the story. Lots of vital Dracula info that gets omitted from the film versions, like Dracula's many "modes" ("bat mode" "fog mode" "lizard mode"), the…

The premise is great but the execution has plenty of dry patches.

This edition has a lot of grammatical errors, like repeated words. But I'm deeply intrigued by the story.

A novel set in the late 1800s, Dracula by Bram Stoker is what I like to consider is the push that set us into motion for our never ending fascination surrounding vampires. The countless movies based upon this idea such as Twilight, Hotel…

Good . Remember to brush up on the The Bible and Shakespeare as they are referenced often which is normal for books of this era.

This is the very book (first published way back in 1897) that started the whole vampire craze that still endures to this very day (more than 120 years later). Yes. The graphic details of the horror narrated in this work of fiction…

The original is still the greatest. I love the epistolary format, a fine Victorian convention used by many great writers of the 19th century and a good way to solve the multiple POV issue. This particular volume by Penguin has excellent…

So I have heard of people raving about Dracula, so I finally picked it up to read. Quite honestly I was rather disappointed. I am not a huge fan of the format, and also not a fan of most of these characters' journals that we are…
