Random story of a journalist and "his attorney" having a crazy time in Las Vegas. This is one of those books like Brett Easton Ellis books not necessarily amazing but known for their subversive story lines.

A load of b.s. How do you know he isn’t just sitting in his hotel room making up these drug-addled nightmares?

Frantic drug-fueled mayhem. Brings the peak of the late 60s / early 70s drug era to life in a way that makes you glad you weren't part of it

With Hunter S. Thompson, it's hard to tell just what you're getting. His writing sits at the crossroads of fantastical delusion, and uncompromised genius. If you're a fan, you go with the latter every time. FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS…

Thrilling, reckless, witty, questionable acts and questions the establishment. Seems to be missing chunks of time/events. Perhaps, due to lack of consciousness/memory or tape recorder failure...

From the opening line to the closing paragraph, this book chronicles how many elicit drugs a man can get away with pumping into his system. Far from the mindless ramblings one might expect from such an account, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS…

Ignore the movies and read this book. Some laugh out loud moments . There will always be a certain amount of rambling in a Hunter Thompson book but it's worth sifting through. Heavy on the drugs but even if you don't enjoy drug humor…

I read this book after seeing the movie. I enjoyed the book more, but the movie is very good too. Well written and full of great quotes.

Mostly bragging about his drug and alcohol prowess. A bit of a peek into a bygone era, but otherwise not a lot to recommend it.

I didn't enjoy this book. Maybe I missed the point. I found it was a little ironic and humorous at points, but mostly about two people wasting money and time and their lives. It is a shame people live like this and scary. No wonder…

Heart that Johnny Depp's performance in Rango is an homage to Hunter S. Thompson as Depp played him in the film version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Definite resemblence between Rango and the cover art on the book!

Most people think this book is a work of fiction. Every person I know who have met Hunter Thompson are sure that it is autobiographical. Regardless, you have never read a book about such drug-induced insanity that at the same time is…
