(Slim kisses Steve) Steve: "What'd you do that for?" Slim: "I've been wondering if I'd like it." Steve: "What's the decision?" Slim: "I don't know yet." (They kiss again) Slim: "It's even better when you help."
I'm real hard to get, Steve. All you have to do is ask me.

Add a CommentQuite a film debut for the striking 19 year old Bacall. She had the standout performance, outshining even her future hubby (marginally). You could sense something real between them in their eyes. The storyline paled in comparison to their discourse. Carmichael and Brennan were frosting on the Slim/Steve cake. FIVE STARS.
A good example of the period of filmmaking. Lots of wit, less action. A famous entertainer playing a bit part, but getting lots of screen time to make music. Bogart playing his "amused hood" persona.
Wow. Now I understand what all this 'Bogey and Bacall' talk is about, especially Bacall (I seen lots of Bogey before). In fact, the plot was completely secondary to the two of them. Quite liked Hoagy Carmichael, too. But Bacall was the star, from the first chin down sideways glance to her happy exit wiggle.
Wonderful Classic directed by Howard Hawkes. Bogie and Bacall are enchanting. Hoagy Carmichael and Lauren Bacall Sing "Am I Blue?". I highly recommend this film!
"Anybody got a cigarette?" The movie that made them.
Another Hawks classic! This begins the legend of Bogart and Bacall! Brennan (who was one of the great character actors) is highly memorable and throw in Hoagy Carmichael as well, and you can't lose!
