Ripley is recovering from her first encounter with the deadly alien. Her account of that event is received with skepticism, but transmissions from a colony later established on the alien's planet abruptly cease. Burke, an up-and-coming company man, talks Ripley into going back with a squad of colonial Marines. Of course the Marines do not take her warnings seriously either, until they come face-to-face with the awesome alien spawn.

Contrary to the norm, this sequl is better directed and is more polished than the original.
James Cameron lets his female lead shine yet again!

As sequels go, this movie is the Cinderella story. It is the rarity that not only doesn't suck on its own but also doesn't suck when compared to the original. I'd put them on even footing. This movie gave us a different side to Ripley without murdering her character (just everyone else). Awesome, will always be in my collection.

Best Alien movie of all of them!
Not only a great film and colossal sequel (still can't believe how good the first one was), but the one film, even though SF and in the future, and co-ed, most representative of small combat team experience in the Viet Nam War - - Cameron really nails it! And Sigourney Weaver rocks! Is it (a) In space, no one can hear you fart. or (b) In space, no one can hear you scream like a little girl?

"Hey Vasquez. Have you ever been mistaken for a man?" "No, have you?"

who thinks this is the best alien move out of them all?

Unwatchable foolishness.
Much worse than the dismal original.

Just as thrilling and gripping as the first film, but in a very different way. Full of non-stop action and thrills throughout, this is one of James Cameron's greatest achievements!

I loved this movie when it first came out but seeing it recently I found it dated, somewhat cliche and not having the powerful impact the first viewing had.

There are no scantily clad women waiting to be rescued by men in this film! Females are portrayed and viewed by other characters as capable, strong, and intelligent. Add great casting, plot, and witty dialogue and Aliens continues to be one of the best movies ever made.
