the concepts in this book fascinate me. I think the pictures give you an even better idea of what the author describes. seeing the giant walkers, and the fabricated beasts is something I really like about this book. its also amazing how well the author warps reality to make a story in which a prince and a girl pretending to be a boy, come to depend on each other.

It was cool how they were making the animals more attentive to humans but I wish it were set more into the future rather than the past.

An amazingly crafted alternative steampunk history of the World War. I loved the Clanker vs Darwinist theme as well as the innovative method of cursing. Strong protagonists that balance each other out well. Entertaining and gorgeously illustrated!

I wish there were more books like this. It isn't a paranormal love triangle fantasy, like many books today are. It's more of an alternate history novel with creative technology. The story sticks to various parts of history but still has an unpredictable plot, and the characters are very fun to read about. Try it! :D
