The Men Who Stare at Goats
Reporter Bob Wilton is trying to lose himself in the romance of war after his marriage fails. He gets more than he bargains for when he meets a special forces agent who reveals the existence of a secret, military unit whose goal is to end war as we know it. With unparalleled psychic powers, they can read the enemy's thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat by simply staring at it. Now, the founder of the unit has gone missing and the trail leads to another psychic soldier who has distorted the mission to serve his own ends.

Huh? Watch this movie and you will soon feel like you are the "goat".
Little about remote viewing, a lot about inane, improbable script writing and acting.

I was expecting better, as I recalled the news regular TV reviews when the movie was released. It has a solid foundation, but the script is weak, and the only nice thing about the film were the goat views at the very end. The film circled about the comic degeneracy of the US Army's physic warfare division developed in the 1960s until the 2000 years where it ends in the film.

Was really expecting more from such a great cast. If this is based on a true story, then the american military is more trouble than I thought lol

Really enjoyed the first hour of this movie, the last half is ok but drags. Ewan and George are great together. A fun movie crazy movie. Worth watching.

10/10 one of those movies you never forget and appreciate having seen in the first place.

remarkable cast with remarkable stories to tell.

I read the book and loved it, so, inevitably I guess, I was disappointed by the movie. It "Hollywood-ized" the story by falsely inserting a happy ending (sort of), when in fact, like many true stories, there is no pat feeling of closure. Sometimes, nobody really knows what happened to the goats...

Well, what can I say? The movie is supposed to be based on a true story. However, being a skeptic, I find it hard to believe anything related to psychic phenomena and such. I did get a few laughs out of it though, so if you're bored and in need of a bit of funny, go for it.

You have George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, and Kevin Spacey in a movie together where there exists a faction in the U.S. Army dedicated to psychic warfare. The premise alone explains why you should check this film out.

Thelma Adams of US Weekly said the film was "Reminiscent of the Coen Brothers at their most Unhinged."
