Bubba_Louie, I believe your focus on Pulp Fiction's dialogue is somewhat misguided. It doesn't matter what they put on their fries. What's important is the fact that before Pulp Fiction, you rarely saw movies where criminals, mobsters, or hitmen talked like everyone else does. These assassins are going to their job, and they're talking just like any other two working stiffs just trying to make it through their day. It may not seem like a huge revelation, but most crime movies made after 1994 owe a huge debt to Tarantino's dialogue.

Definitely overrated.

An interesting mix of stories woven together which probably could have been a bit shorter since despite all the action and good dialogue it is dull at times.

OK. I'm certainly not going to bother to waste my time, or yours, here by ranting and raving away about what a frickin' over-rated (That's right! - OVER-RATED!!) bore that I, most definitely, thought that Pulp Fiction was..... All that I'll say on the matter is that I have never, ever heard more stupid and more pointless conversations going on (on a continual basis) in one film, than what I heard going on in this poor excuse for movie-entertainment. It's true..... And out of all these braindead conversations the most brilliant "factoid" brought to my attention was that in France, at their McDonalds, they actually (get this) put mayonaise on their french fries..... Gasp!!..... Oh-me! Oh-my! Those utterly uncouth Parisian parasites have no class at all!..... Need I say more?

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

This movie is very cool with great characters in different stories blending together. I would advise that anyone watching this movie see it with their HOMETHEATER. Now, this film is not known for incredible sound or visual effects, but the story and characters are interesting and enjoyable, and should be a part of your collection. I'm giving this movie 4 and half stars. Very good entertainment, unusual characters, a very good cast, and my friend and i liked it. Lamb with curry, white rice, black beans, pita bread, white potatoes, and ginger beer.

The writing in this movie is absolutely incredible. It also has some of the most memorable movie scenes ever. Best Quentin Tarantino movie ever.

Quentin Tarantino's best movie - and one of my all-time favourite flicks! This movie changed the landscape of action/adventure dramas ever made - up until then - and for that reason alone - it shall stand as a Hollywood Classic!!!

This is only the third time I've seen it, the first being in the theatre in the original run, then once again around a decade ago on video. I'm unsure if this is a series of short stories which happen to intersect, or if it is one really long one told out of sequence so that we know who people are when we see them for the last time. For example: we start in the coffee shop with Pumpkin and Honey-Bunny, then before we bump into Jules and Vincent, the story-teller backs up to 7:15 that morning to explain who those cats are and why they're there. Likewise, Butch is introduced later because his fight takes place simultaneous to Mia and Vincent's date and subsequent medical emergency. Some of the dialogue is incredibly well-written and, without the action which precedes and follows it, wouldn't have made it past the draft stage in Hollywood, as it would be seen as "too wordy". Take Jules' explanation of how he now interprets his quotation from "Ezekiel", for instance: it's got to consist of just him talking continuously for several pages, something which isn't seen in a vast majority of films. The above proves that, above and beyond all other conventionally-held thoughts about 'story-telling', there is one paramount, guiding rule: there are no rules, as long as your plot, action, and characters are strong and do not distract one from another.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

You ever read the Bible Brett? There's a passage I got memorized, seems appropriate for this situation: Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."
