Book Description

They call him the Wraith—a ghost on the battlefield, a legend whispered among soldiers.

Before leaving Jacob’s Forge, Seth swore two difficult oaths: to protect Beth Amen’s eastern flank and to drive the enemy from his homeland. Barely more than a youth, ranger Seth Blackhawk leads a contingent of refugees home through a land scarred by war. But when Seth, Raniyah, and Helen reach the embattled settlement of Turkey Foot, they find Blackhawk on the brink of annihilation.

Devastated during the initial orc invasion, the famed Blackhawk Brigade holds a precarious defensive line along the Rappacion River. Supplies are thin. Hope is thinner. And while soldiers bleed on the front lines, behind the scenes, others labor to undermine the war effort. Dishonesty and betrayal swirl at the highest levels within the Territorial government as a wicked influence wreaks havoc throughout the territory for its own ambitions. As enemies close in and corruption spreads, Seth must confront a terrifying truth: saving Blackhawk may demand more than skill with blade and bow. It may cost him everything.

Who is the mysterious demon spinning chaos?
Can Seth fulfill his promise to the Queen of the Beth Amen?
Does the Blackhawk Brigade rise from the ashes to fight—or fall forever?

In a land where legends are forged in blood, one teenage ranger may be the last hope of a nation.

Author Bio

Fantasy has forever influenced Chris Grooms’ life. Legos, comic books, D&D, books, and superhero movies added fuel to his already overactive imagination. On horseback or on foot, he spent hours fighting fictional foes in the fields and ditches surrounding his boyhood home. His high school buddies introduced him to D&D, which took him on new and exciting adventures, and it was during this period when Wulf Blackhawk sprang to life.

Grooms never entertained the thought of writing until the spring of 2020. For several years leading up to that point, he had written role playing adventures designed for his sons. Their departure from home left a creative hole in his life. Driven by the need for creative expression, Grooms began writing Legends of Blackhawk.

Following retirement from the Marine Corps, Grooms settled down with his family in Virginia. View his website here
