A family movie that is alternately set in WW2 England and Regency England. It reminded me a bit of The Lion , The Witch, and the Wardrobe with the alternate universe going back and forth. Excellent actors, sets, and I enjoyed it immensely.

If you are missing the cast of “Downton Abbey” you’ll find 3 cast members in this film from director Julian Fellowes. Maggie Smith plays the grandmother to young Tolly, whose father is missing in action in December, 1944 war torn Europe. …

A nice family movie-part ghost story, part mystery, part drama. Written and directed by Julian Fellows, and fun to see some actors in this show that went on to be in Downton Abbey. Not 5 stars as I thought the young actor who played the…

A boy staying with his grandmother in her old mansion meets some of the past residents. He interacts with these ghosts to learn the truth about a family mystery. Some plot holes, but Maggie Smith is excellent as usual.

Really enjoyed this story, also the book. Family film, but a little scary for smaller children (maybe).

From Time to Time Set in post-war England, this movie is a ghost story set in a rather creepy moldering mansion with a sinister background. It's not particularly scary, but it is fun to watch. The writer/director is Julian Fellowes of…

Note to self, till this comes my way: scriptwriter is Julian Fellowes, writer of the script not just for Downton Abbey but also, better yet, Gosford Park.

Excellent family movie written and directed by Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame. Based on the Green Knowe series of books for kids by Lucy Boston - several at JOCO Library.

I am a sucker for Maggie Smith, but unfortunately she’s relegated to a background role and her incredible talent was wasted. The story has several roles and some scenes are so hyperbolic they are borderline silly. The end was quite…
