This is a beautiful, engaging story (or set of stories) that sets the bar for good writing. Her characters are practically breathing, they are so real and believable, and the world she builds challenges the reader to think of other ways that we humans might exist. She's a master!

Four novellas that add the breadth of Hainish culture. A very good read.
