I am interested in the geographical history of Stafford along with the events that took place. This book gave me exactly what I needed and so much more. The author grew up in the area, so she relates personal, fond memories from her childhood along with a wealth of documented historical information on events that took place. She provides meticulous detail regrading land, farm houses, and estates using deeds, tax records and other documents. Her book provides information from the late 1600's to mid 1800's. I learned a lot and laughed a lot as she interwove historical data with tales about everyday characters, unknown heroes and famous Americans who helped to shape our country. I am highly impressed with her work. I found that this volume of work has been a tremendous help to me as i attempt to reconstruct the history of the area.
