A baby bird goes in search of his mother in this hilarious Beginner Book edited by Dr. Seuss. When a mother bird's egg starts to jump, she hurries off to make sure she has something for her little one to eat. But as soon as she's gone, out pops the baby bird. He immediately sets off to find his mother, but not knowing what she looks like makes it a challenge. The little hatchling is determined to find his mother, even after meeting a kitten, a hen, a dog, and a Snort. The timeless message of the bond between mother and child make P. D. Eastman's Are You My Mother? a must for baby showers, beginning readers, and Mother's Day.

Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning.

This was one of my favorite books as a kid. Highly recommended.

When the mommy bird went to find food, her baby couldn't find his mother. So, the baby bird went to find his mother. It's my favorite because I like Dr. Seuss. - Jazzy, Age 14.

Every night, before bed, my mother would read us a story. More often than not, this book would be our choice. To this day, if I want to recall a warm memory, I pick up this story.

Great story for any kid! I read this when I was little, and I am going to use it as an example for a children's story in my Public Speaking class. It's adorable and I still love the story to this day. If I ever have kids, I will definitely have them read this book :)

Completely indispensable in any toddler's or preschooler's library. My son and I read this over and over again when he was little. The repetition and the way the story builds upon and repeats itself are great for developing early literacy skills, the illustrations are simple and captivating, and the plot is one that will fascinate any small child. In short: read this with your kid!

One of my favorites as a child. I just borrowed the ebook while waiting to be seated at a restaurant with my nearly 4 year old niece. We just finished reading it when they called our name for a table. She loved it and insisted we read it again at the table while waiting for food to arrive.
