Charlaine Harris has charmed audiences recently with her noirish cozy series starring Lily Bard. Now she returns to her cozy roots with her first Aurora--Roe--Teagarden mystery since Dead Over Heels. Roe and her new and considerably older husband Martin are settled into their new life quite nicely when everything changes with the arrival of Martin's niece Regina. The flighty Regina lands on their doorstep with a baby no one knew she was expecting, then disappears a few hours later leaving both the baby and her husband's brutally murdered corpse in her wake. Roe and Martin must try to answer all the questions in this sticky case: whodunnit, why, and where (as in, Where the heck did this baby come from?). Fans of Roe's earlier exploits and of Lily Bard will be delighted by Harris' reprisal of the Teagarden series.

This is another good story from Charlaine Harris. Aurora Teagarden, (Roe), finds herself letting Martin's niece, Regina, live in the apartment over the garage that Angel and Sheldon have moved from. Regina arrives with her baby who is only a month or so old. Then disappears when her husband is killed and leaves the baby with Roe and Martin. Angel and Sheldon are expecting their own baby any time, so they can't be of help. Martin and Roe go in search of relatives hoping to find Regina as well. I don't want to say anything to give away the ending, but I never saw it coming and was really surprised. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

#6 in Aurora Teagarden series.
A little too much complaining by Aurora this time, but lots of action/plot. A bit unbelievable plot, but interesting resolution.

Really good story and enjoyable series! Did not expect the twist at the end!

"I thought you were a nice lady" says a character to Aurora Teagarden in this book. "Not any more" is the answer. No lie! Roe, together with husband Martin and his niece Regina and baby Hayden get embroiled in a murderous rampage by some people desperate for a baby. Roe, who recently found out she could not have a baby is left holding little Hayden when Regina disappears. Roe, far from the witty Southern librarian has morphed into a tough, impatient broad. Though she bemoans her infertility, she really doesn't like taking care of the baby. Though this is a "cozy" series this installment is not too cozy but I liked it. Lots of action is this, slightly darker book and Roe suffers a nasty life-changing event at the end.

This is a great series. Surprised at the turn she has taken in the series but I'm sure it will work out.

Another great Aurora Teagarden mystery. It had a very surprising ending! I would never have guessed. Again Charlaine Harries outdid herself. Excellent murder mystery. I highly recommend it!!
