I Ain't Gonna Paint No More

When mom discovers the living room dripping with every imaginable color, she quickly determines the culprit and hides the art supplies. Her son exclaims, "I Ain't Gonna Paint No More!" Easier said than done.

One cannot simply quit creativity. Our protagonist reclaims his tools of expression. This time though, he is going to be the canvas. Things are about to get messy! (more)

From Library Staff

Sing along with a little boy as he can't help but paint some surprising surfaces.

A silly colorful rhyming book from your head to your toes. Prepare for a creative explosion of self-expression in all its messy glory.

Have your children guess which body part comes next (hint--it rhymes!). If they have trouble, give them a choice of body parts and repeat the rhyming word.

Combines infectious melodies with concept-building, focusing on body parts. Each page sets us up with a rhyme then pauses to let the reader guess the painted part in question. "So I take some red and I paint my...HEAD!"

This rollicking book of artistic mischief messily covers both different colors and body parts!

A fun read-aloud best told by singing!

This book is a storytime staple.
I handed out paintbrushes to the kids today and we painted our faces and bodies in imitation of the main character (using our imaginations).
Great book for - TALKING about body parts, PREDICTING rhyming words, SINGING a book rather than reading it.

An ornery kiddo cannot resist adding one more dab of paint all over his body. This is one of my all-time favorite read-aloud books. Pair this book with a finger painting sesh and you're golden. (Or purple, or blue, or...)

What a fun story! A little kid steadily paints all over himself. A great idea is to read it with a paintbrush so your little one can pretend to "paint" on herself along with the book.

Wonderful story time book. It's a simple story with a FANTASTIC rhythm.

It also offers the opportunity for children to chime in with various body parts as they get painted - helping the storyteller complete the rhyme.
