Spring in Tinker's Cove, Maine, finds local reporter Lucy Stone longing for her garden while languishing in her office at the Pennysaver. At least she gets to kick back and enjoy a fancy Mother's Day brunch with her brood - that is, before the festivities are interrupted by a nasty scene between two competitive moms. Things escalate when mean moms Tina and Bar team up to host an after-prom party for local teens. Lucy has a front-row seat for the fireworks, but she never expects to see Tina shot dead right in front of her.

Fun to read. Plenty of action, and just the right amount of suspense.

I love this series featuring Lucy Stone. She and her family live in Tinker's Cove, Maine. The storylines with her family tie in nicely with the mysteries she encounters along the way as a reporter for the local newspaper, The Pennysaver. The first title in the series is Mistletoe Murder.
