Raising a wild animal indoors will naturally produce unusual circumstances. Biologist Stacey O'Brien learned her barn owl's language of chirps, shrieks and hoots. O'Brien explores the idea that animals have feelings, including embarrassment and joy. The CD includes photos, although black and white, of her beautiful bird.

Listening to this audio book changed me into a bird enthusiast. Be sure check out the paper book too, so you can see the pictures of Wesley growing up and living with O'Brien.
