The only good book about a kid with autism/cancer/put debilitating illness here. Not to say these things aren't hard to deal with, but this is the only good book I've ever read about a kid with one of those.

This book was recommended by Seattle Public Library for people who liked A Fault in Our Stars. If the thing that drew you to A Fault in Our Stars is kids with cancer, then yes, After Ever After might also be enjoyable to you. Unfortunately, that's where the similarity stops. I loved the characters in AFIOS but I found the characters in AEA to be extremely unbelievable, especially when viewed through the lens of my own middle school memories. I never felt attached to anyone and when bad things happened I knew I was supposed to feel sad, but I did not (whereas I cried like a baby when I read AFIOS). I see now that this book is a sequel; maybe I'd have liked it better if I'd read the first book first.

A great eye-opening book just like drums, girl, and dangerous pie!

I think everyone should read those 2 books in their life!
They give you a glimnse into teh lives of cancer patients and cancer life doesn't get a whole lot easier even in remission (after treatment) cause of the unfortunate side-effects.

I think this made it to my top 3 fave books by Jordan (following Drums, Girls.. and Notes from a midnight driver respectively). Because I loved Jeffy in Drums, and its nice to read about him all grown up. And i really really love Tad. And i love Jordan's books, because I didn't expect the twist in the middle, thinking this to be a happy book. Of course, it wouldn't be one of his books if it didn't leave me laughing AND teary eyed at the end :) So yeah, and it's cute how jeff still adores steven even if theyre all grown up. <3
