The book is a good idea. However, it falls in an awkward gap of usefulness. For an "introduction to..." book, it assumes the reader will know a fair bit more about geometry or calculus than a casual reader. On the other hand, for a reader already sufficiently versed in calculus or geometry, there might not be much new in the book.
