After reading The Awakening, I continued to read this book. The book is an easy read, and it amazes me how much dislike Elena has toward Damon. I appreciate the fact that Elena has really good friends such as Matt, Bonnie, and Meredith.

Also, after watching the show for many years, it was hard to digest that Elena has a much younger sister, and not a brother.

I appreciated Damon's attempts to get to know Elena. I will say Ian Somerhalder has truly captured Damon's character. Damon's nature is one that is hard to understand, and Elena wants the reader to believe he is an evil being. The ending through a curve ball, and I liked it.
