I'm sure it's just me, but I didn't get it. Not funny, not original. To me. Recommendation: don't bother.

It is very funny. Awkward teenage boy and his shenanigans. If I were a teenage boy, I think I would be a lot like Nick Twisp - sarcastic as sin and full of hilarious ideas.

I only picked up this book to read because I liked Michael Cera's face staring at me from the cover. Nick Twisp didn't amuse me as much as Sue Townsend's Adrian Mole, but I did find it entertaining. The plot was vulgar; the language was fine. I don't recommend any 53-year-old woman getting inside a 14-year-old male's brain.

This is easily one of the funniest books I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Nick Twisp (along with his alter ego François) is the hero of post-modern, too-smart, sex-crazed teenagers everywhere. The sheer cheek of this book, with all of its ridiculously over-blown vocabulary and all-too-accurate descriptions of what teenaged boys really think about 99% of the time, makes it an absolutely delicious read.
