On a December night in 1963, 13-year-old Alison Carter took her dog for a walk, and was never seen again. For newly-promoted Detective Inspector George Bennett, the case launched a superstar career. Bennett's obsession with the case turned up enough evidence to hang his suspect even though her body was never found. Filmmaker Catherine Heathcote turns her camera to Bennett and struggles to understand why questions from forty years ago have different answers today.

One of the more "meh" of this type of British crime drama. Maybe it's that I find Juliet Stevenson's fluttery, sad-little-woman performances to be monotonous.

Once into this DVD I realized I'd seen it years ago. OK, not terrific or up to Brit drama I like.

Excellent drama although the ending was somewhat expected. Performances were solid.Another watchable film with the British earmark .

Surprisingly good movie. A suspense thriller, if you will. Quite long, given that it was, in its original format, a TV mini series.

Very well done. Storyline sticks pretty closely to the Val McDermid book it's based on.
