If you love baseball you should read this book. Steinbrenner was a colorful and complex part of baseball history. I believe the book gives an accurate and compelling overview of the issues, turmoil through the Steinbrenner era...some of which very few realized had happened.

Steinbrenner's biography is no whitewash job. It does show some flaws in the man. As someone who has read several books such as this one, I see that powerful people such as George have (suffer from?) the same issues as others of their ilk. I would also like to mention that, in my opinion, NYC is a character in the book. It seems to me that the city brought out the best (or worst, based on your point of view) in the man.
