The book bogs down in the middle to lists of famous people he was hanging out with, but his account of coming of age in the various repressions of the 1950's is compelling.

The Pulitzer Price and Oscar winning cartoonist who also wrote the beloved story-time book "Bark, George" and illustrated one of my childhood shows "the Phantom Tollbooth" has written this memoir in his own way and unique voice. Cartooning "saved his life". Will reading this book save yours?
