The Decemberists' albums feel right at home in the library collection. They are catchy, cozy arrangements, perfect to accompany a cup of tea and a good read.

THERE we go! Colin Meloy finally matures enough as a lyricist to craft witty, moving and excitingly original ballads while the rest of the band keeps the pace sprightly and fun. Add in Chris Walla working his usual subtle magic on the production, and it's no wonder this was the album that made The Decemberists famous.

And I am a writer, writer of fictions
I am the heart that you call home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones
