25,000 Miles Non-stop : Voyager AircraftDVD - 2005
In the pre-dawn darkness of December 14, 1986, a peculiar aircraft lumbered down the immense runway at California's Edwards Air Force base. Maverick aircraft designer Burt Rutan--who would later claim the prize for first private space flight--designed this plane to capture one of the last great prizes in aviation, circumnavigating the globe in a single flight without refueling. The bizarre craft, Voyager, was like no flying machine ever built. When Voyager does get airborne, there were nine more days of perilous near-death experiences as it made history.
