Joseph Michtom, son of Russian jewish immigrants, experiences life in Brooklyn just after the turn of the previous century. Kids will enjoy hearing the historical detail of what life was like back then. The author juxtaposes the life experiences of runaways and orphans, living under the Brooklyn bridge, with the rest of the storyline. The narrator on the cd does a good job too.
