True story of a dog very similar to the famous Japanese Akita Inu, Hachiko. Shep has a bit happier story although he too loses his human and waits patiently at a train station. This is a well written and depicted picture book. A good read for anyone who loves dog.

Shep’s master died in 1936. His body was loaded on a train to return to his family. His dog Shep met every train over the next four years, hoping to be reunited with his master. Picture-book format.
