Light and fun story, great for 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade. I do love how very sensible Clover is.

I read it because one reviewer compared it to Eva Ibbotson, my favorite chidren's author. This book lacks any of the biting social commentary or ironic views that Eva shares. It is just fun for fun's sake -- not in the service of engendering an environmental conscience or lampooning absentee parenting.

Still and all -- I will look for more Clover. She grows on you.
