This book took a lot of research, reflecting the complex nature of its subject, energy and finance. However, that research didn't make up for the lack of first hand knowledge by the author when it referred to "clips" being inserted into a pistol when it should have called them "magazines". Also, all machine guns are "automatic" therefore "automatic machine gun" is redundant. A hairy-chested Delta hero such as Dewey would rather have died than make such amateurish errors in terminology. However, a former political speech writer such as the one who wrote this book could have easily made such egregious errors. It just takes all of the starch out of any credibility that Dewey A. might have. Obviously, no editors were involved in the production of this book.

Yep really good. A debut for Dewey Andreas & I want to read more of him. It's fast paced & interesting. The threat is realistic.

Totally lost interest when the supposed "hero" of the book flicked his cigarette into the ocean in the opening scene. Like watching someone throw litter out of their car window, not a very "hero" like action!

"Here's a premise that will keep you up at night: terrorists deeply embedded in Western society have set off a chain of attacks on U.S. and Canadian energy resources, killing hundreds and weakening the global economy. But there's a survivor of an attack on an offshore oil rig - former Special Forces soldier Dewey Andreas - who's not about to sit back and let the terrorists destroy his country. Fans of Vince Flynn (or of Brad Thor) will enjoy this debut for its gripping, fast-paced plot, independent hero, and international political intrigue; you can follow it up with its sequels, Coup d'Etat and The Last Refuge." Not a grabber for me. Dragged a bit in the middle and closed fast, but left too many unanswered questions.

But fear had no antidote; it was the enemy of the warrior.
