For a small, children's picture book, SNOOK ALONE contains a lot of words, even large and vocabulary-stretching. I do not think that is a bad thing, but something you should know before checking it out. This wonderful tale of friendship and hope, woven with "evocative" (used in the book's synopsis/review) descriptions of nature is a joy to read with youngsters, or read independently by 3rd/4th graders and up.

A story of loss and reunion. May be a little intense for sensitive younger ones who may be especially saddened by separation.
