An enjoyable read, but I felt it simply skimmed the surface of the racial and class tensions of the time in which it is set. I appreciated that the characters were all flawed and yet still appealing, but I was not convinced by the mental maturity (or lack thereof) of any of them by the end.

Blind Date With a Book comment: "It was a slow start, but it got better and better."

The Improper Life of Bezellia Grove was an okay book for me. The ending ruined it for me. I know not all books are to have a happy ending but I felt like it left the reader frustrated that Bezellia never got through to Sam and was never able to explain things that haunted him. I also felt as if the mothers problem with her little sister was extremely aggravating.
