Valerie's sister was beautiful, kind, and sweet. Now she is dead. Henri, the handsome son of the blacksmith, tries to console Valerie, but her wild heart beats fast for another: the outcast woodcutter, Peter, who offers Valerie another life far from home.

After her sister's violent death, Valerie's world begins to spiral out of control. For generations, the werewolf has been kept at bay with a monthly sacrifice. But no one is safe. When an expert wolf hunter arrives, the villagers learn that the creature lives among them - it could be anyone in town.

It soon becomes clear that Valerie is the only one who can hear the voice of creature. The Wolf says she must surrender herself before the Blood Moon wanes . . . or everyone she loves will die.

This is a dangerous new vision of a classic fairy tale, and for readers who want even more of Valerie's riveting story, a bonus chapter that extends the drama is available at .

This book was so catchy, I loved the twist that they put on the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. I saw the movie and read this book in one day, but it was definitely a page turner - couldn't put it down! It was full of suspense and kept me guessing the potential wolf suspect.

I'm such a sucker for retold fairy tales, and this is definitely the most creative retelling of Little Red Riding Hood I've ever read. I read the whole thing in one go. Granted, I was in a car for seven hours straight but you get my point. I was absorbed and it was fantastic!

Short and enjoyable read. Couldn't figure out who the wolf was either, but still worth it!

I enjoyed it. But I couldn't figure who the wolf was for some reason.

It's a fun, quick, read. The writing is enjoyable and doesn't get bogged down in trying to take itself too seriously. I enjoyed getting getting into greater detail about Valerie. She was my favorite character from the movie.

I watched the movie before I read this book. And I would prefer the movie over the book because the book was kind of boring and slow. but that movie was AWESOME!

I wasn't all that impressed. Easy read, very predictable. A big issue for me at the start was I had to actually read the introduction to understand the housing situation. Either I missed a sentence or the author just skipped mentioning the houses were on stilts. Made things very confusing for awhile there (and then I caved and read the introduction which really shouldn't have any impact on the story).

At the end of the day, I'm glad I didn't buy it. Maybe the movie is better?
