My favorite summer book I read was Sell Out by Ebony Wilkins. This book was about a girl named NaTasha who was the only African American girl in her school. But surprisingly, she was perfectly okay with that. Although, her grandmother was not. Her grandmother wanted her to get back to her roots and learn about who she truly is. Along the way, NaTasha experienced a lot of different things that she hadn’t really experienced before. Things that most African Americans would go through. In the end, NaTasha joined a group of all troubled African Americans she grew to enjoy it. I really enjoyed this book and it has become my favorite book. I would definitely read it again and any other books that the author has previously written. I would mostly recommend this book to any girl of minority who wants to see how life is from another girl of color’s prospective. I still encourage other girls or boys to read this no matter what race they are. It is a very good book and it really makes you think about what the other people around you go through.
