Lassie is a tale about a young boy named Matt, and his sheepdog Lassie. Matt is not happy about moving from his town into the countryside with his grandfather to Nowhereville. But unfortunately for him, he is packed in a car with his little sister, dad and “Laura” his stepmother. Along the way, Matt is jamming on his Walkman when a heavy traffic jam makes him look out the window and spot a beautiful sheepdog disappear into the woods. Jennifer, his sister, is ecstatic with joy at seeing “Lassie” the dog from her favourite TV show. But when Lassie shows up in the back of Matt’s car, she becomes a part of the family. So begins an adventure of Matt fulfilling his late mother’s wish and creating a sheep farm alongside faithful Lassie, his family, and Grandpa Jo. But nothing is as it seems, especially when fellow neighbours have their eyes on the grazing land. Follow along on the path of trust, hope and loss when a young boy puts down his Walkman and heads out to the farm. A classic that I absolutely love. Rating 4/5
