Pride and Prejudice goes Hollywood in this winning romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen's classic. In her teen fiction debut, the author of Knitting Under the Influence goes back to high school for a tale of sisters, misinformation, and star-crossed love.

Will Elise's love life be an epic win or an epic fail?

At Coral Tree Prep in Los Angeles, who your parents are can make or break you.

Case in point: As the son of Hollywood royalty, Derek Edwards is pretty much prince of the school--not that he deigns to acknowledge many of his loyal subjects.

As the daughter of the new principal, Elise Benton isn't exactly on everyone's must-sit-next-to-at-lunch list.

When Elise's beautiful sister catches the eye of the prince's best friend, Elise gets to spend a lot of time with Derek, making her the envy of every girl on campus. Except she refuses to fall for any of his rare smiles and instead warms up to his enemy, the surprisingly charming social outcast Webster Grant.

But in this hilarious tale of fitting in and flirting, not all snubs are undeserved, not all celebrity brats are bratty, and pride and prejudice can get in the way of true love for only so long.

Somehow the P&P story doesn't really fit in a contemporary setting. Or at least, it wasn't done properly in this story.

If you want a quick, lighthearted contemporary YA romance novel, you could do worse than Epic Fail. And if that doesn't sound like an epic win, that's because I was hoping for more wit. It's not that Epic Fail is bad- it isn't- it's just so very, very much a Pride & Prejudice retelling without any surprises. It would work well as a primer to Austen, and it was definitely a fast read, but it felt more like a fluffy confection dessert than a novel.

It was quite predictable, but still a good fun read. It was neat to see how the author modernized the Pride & Prejudice characters.

Good. Not a very deep concept. But good for light reading.

Amazing book for any fan of Jane Austen and chick lit. A very easy read, but fun.

I honestly loved this book. It was predictable, yet at the same time, there were lots of twists that you didn't expect. I really like how the author showed the different aspects of every character, and how as a reader I could connect with all of the major characters. I also liked the ending, it reflected the "moral" of the story. I really hope there's a sequel some day!

I didn't realize until the very end that this story was a spin-off of Pride and Prejudice (which I love). Oops. I really enjoyed Claire LaZebnik's take on such a classic story.

This book kind of reminds me of "Pride and Prejuduce" By Jane Auston. There are alot of similiaritys, if you want to find out...then read the book ☺

Sexual Content: No real heavy sexual content but there is a scene where a guy is trying to bring down a celebrity and she has her clothes on (barely) and is in a compromising position. The protagonists stop everything before it gets far.

Coarse Language: Some bombs I didn't expect, but used only once or twice.
