Read all of the other readers' comments and multiply many times their praises. The book starts off like a downhill slide and then it grips your heart and soul. Two meek but powerful men lean on God's words and guides many different types of people. Very much a must read is this book.

This is my first Lynn Austin book. I enjoyed it and will be reading more of her books. It was a nail biter and historically interesting. The power of prayer was a wonderful theme throughout.

There is good insight in this book, not just related to the post-Civil War reconstruction era in the South, but for all of our lives.
