In 1926, Agatha Christie disappeared -- making headlines across the world -- only to show up eleven days later at a spa under an assumed name. During those eleven days, did she have time to write a play? Jordan Kelly needs a new job and a new place to live. She's back in Harrison Falls, New York, living with her not so law-abiding uncles, in debt thanks to a credit card-stealing ex and pending grad school loans. Enter the perfect job, a research position that includes room and board, which will allow her to spend her days hunting down rare mysteries for an avid book collector. There's just one problem: her employer, Vera Van Alst, is the most hated citizen of Harrison Falls. Jordan's first assignment is to track down a rumored Agatha Christie play. It seems easy enough, but Jordan soon finds out that her predecessor was killed while looking for it, and there is still someone out there willing to murder to keep the play out of Vera's hands. Jordan's new job is good . . . but is it worth her life?

It took me a while to get into this book. I did like Jordan’s colourful family background. Once I was about 1/2 way I was completely enthralled. So many unexpected twists. Kept me shocked right up until the very last page! Cheers to Agatha!

The first book in the Book Collector Mystery series

Held my interest from start to end. The uncle's are priceless. They will make you laugh. I would love to have Jordan's job. Surrounded by all those books. Having someone to cook great food and encouraging you to eat. A mystery to solve. Just perfect. Looking forward to reading the rest in this series.

I totally enjoyed this book. It's my favorite kind of mystery--a fun read by a good writer, with a bit of humor thrown in. And some interesting plot twists. I'm glad I have more to look forward to.

I enjoyed this fairly light read. Jordan grew up with her uncles, whose lives are a bit outside the average. When an opportunity came along that included a job searching for rare books and living in an old mansion (and moving out from her uncles') she took it. There are many interesting characters in the book. I am finding it hard to believe that this will be a series, however. I can't see this one job continuing for long. I will look for a second book.

It took me nearly 100 pages to get into this new series and I almost stopped reading it, but it did eventually grab my attention enough that I will definitely read the next edition when it comes out in December, 2013.

A solid debut for this cozy series. A likeable protagonist and fun supporting cast. A little light on actual sleuthing -- our hero ultimately just stumbles onto the solution.

While the story is set in upstate New York, a few Canadianisms (Kraft Dinner, Muskoka chair) have slipped passed the editor.
