The author has discovered that many Christians struggle to reconcile their perception of God as both a loving parent and a stern judge. In this book she helps those who haven't truly received God's love because they are afraid of his anger and disapproval. She explores the source of this confusion, so that God's genuine character can be better understood and His love can be experienced on an entirely new level. -- From book jacket.

" Paul's friends should have stood by him when he needed them, but they didn't. " " We must all beware of letting our value rest in what we do; because no matter what we do, the day will probably come when we won't do it any longer." " I learned the truth in time to stop me from continuing to abuse myself in my effort to be acceptable to God. I did suffer for a long time, even though the Holy Spirit was working in me and revealing truth to me." Beware of Darkness; Bleeding Heart; After the Gold Rush. George; Jimi; Neil.

Thankful to God for the opportunity to find and read this book. I definitely struggle with feelings of condemnation and impending doom raining down from God's justice. And I need to be reminded of the title of this book. I read about 8 chapters until I found it a bit repetitive though, but I think the book accomplished it's goal. Well written and well thought out by its author.
