Well, if you love dogs (as I do) you will enjoy this book. However, frankly without the dog angle, it is really just another police whodunit book.

This was the first Robert Crais title for me to read/ listen to... and it was stunningly good. Perfect plotting. Deeply credible characters populate this well researched book, including a U.S. Marine dog with traumatic stress syndrome. I found it part funny, part sad, but always interesting.. I have never seen a better characterization of a dog psyche The audio was very well done.

This novel kept me reading until 2 am. The characters were fascinating and I was always trying to guess what the outcome would be.

This is a departure from the Smart Ass, Elvis Cole books Crais is known and loved for writing. A great book for dog lovers or people that enjoy a good animal story. Several twists and turns but most of all a great story.

This hard hitting riveting story of a cop and his doggedness is well worth the read or listen. Mr. Crais is a master of suspense and a true writer of thrills. 9 of 10 stars
