An excellent conversation starter with your children. Ask them why they think the children in the story are so focused on this little business. Talking with your child about the books you read together helps them to understand the stories better and enjoy the act of reading.

This is a strange and wonderful picture book that takes place in the larger Lemony Snicket universe. Slightly creepy and slightly goofy, this has 29 myths about an ominous pharmacy across town. There are a lot of fun opportunities for interaction, rereads, and liberal use of imagination here, as much of the content is fairly open ended without a real narrative through line. This book is perfect for future fans of John Bellairs, Edward Gorey, or Snicket's longer works.

An illustrated children's book by the author of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and "All the Wrong Questions." I don't think it's so much "completely confusing," as whimsical and a bit absurd, which will surprise nobody who has read anything by Snicket.

There is a pharmacy the next town over. A brother and sister come to visit it to see what it is all about. What do they sell there? Why do people come to it? The brother and sister contemplate 29 things about the pharmacy.

The illustrations are very well done. I enjoyed looking at them more than I enjoyed the story.

This book was completely confusing. I expected to read 29 mysterious things about this pharmacy. But many of the pages had other things like when the boy said, "I was going to write a poem about the Swinster Pharmacy." This was counted as one of the myths. I felt like Snicket ran out of things to say after number 7. I was completely disappointed in this book and find no reason why anyone would want to read it.

I liked this book. After reading his other books for older readers I have found this story takes place in stain'd-by-the-sea
