I had the opportunity to listen to the author speak and was very impressed with (1) her ability to identify the very subtle and specific things service workers do to cope with the stress of helping others that are actually destructive rather than helpful, and (2) the concrete and practical tips she offers for getting out of this difficult frame of mind and body.
