Very good account of the American forces on Omaha Beach. It took half the book to relate just the first two hours of D-Day so descriptive was the detail of the invasion. Recommended reading for those interested in WWII.

If you were to read only one book about , The Big Red One and D-Day 6th of June 1944 this is it.This work by author John McManus is very well put together. Very good illustrative story around major individuals who turned the tide & established the Beachhead to Fortress Europe. The use of maps assist in keeping the Reader in focus.

A great, detailed account of the Big Red 1's planning and assault on their three sectors of Omaha Beach. Very researched and included maps of actual German defenses and their locations.
