"Lucado joins readers on a journey to the very heart of biblical prayer, offering hope for doubts and confidence even for prayer wimps. Distilling prayers in the Bible down to one pocket-sized prayer, Max reminds readers that prayer is not a privilege for the pious nor the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and his child"--Amazon.

While the premise of this book was good and it started out very strong as it proceeded it began to fall flat before ending with a loud thud.

It felt as if Max's heart was really not into this book and he was just trying to churn out a product to satisfy a contractual obligation.

The "Study Guide" which is usually a good part of a Max Lucado book only accentuated the lack of substance to this book.

The "Before Amen Prayer Strengths" were good, but it was just not good enough to help the overall quality of this book.

It pains me to say this (because I really do like Max Lucado's books), but "Before Amen" is one that you can pass on.
