Luke's life has always been about order, control, and acting tough on the outside. Meaningless relationships are a distraction-- a way to tune out the twisted memories of his childhood. Violet has had a rough life: the memory of her parent's unsolved murders; living in foster homes with drugs and neglect. When they meet they clash instantly, yet they can't seem to stay away from each other. They discover just how similar they are. But they also discover that the past always catches up with you...

OH MY HEART I love this book, I love Callie and Kayden and I love Violet and Luke, sooooooo much! This book is a lot more intense, dark, depressing and hard-hitting, and it's definitely a heartbreaker and tearjerker. But it's worth the ride. We see a whole different side of life in general, and we get to know Luke, the real guy past all the toughness and whatnot. I'm in love with him, with them, with their story, with Jessica Sorensen. My only complaint is that it kinda paints a weird and kinda bad picture of Callie and Kayden (they aren't really in this book, too, which SUCKS), but I still love it. It's real and raw, so many powerful emotions and you won't want to stop reading it. But warning, there's a major, epically, extremely tragic cliffhanger, and you won't stop thinking about this book for days, weeks after you finish it. Absolutely breathtaking.
