An epic tale of the Welsh king, Llywelyn who tried to unite Wales. Some romance, thankfully free of the Phillipa Gregory style of soft porn that's become the trend. The only issue I had was her odd phrasing which at times caused me to have to re-read several times. Worth the read. Didn't realize until the end that this is the author who also writes as Ellis Peters (Brother Cadfael)
