Another action thriller that's similar to Bond, Bourne and other type of spy type movies. I didn't think it was a bad film, just not a good as everyone is saying. Samuel Jackson who plays the villain isn't believable and his scenes are kind of cringe worthy. The hero in this film also didn't seem to be anything but a gentleman. He went through months of training, but he still lacks manners, nor can he can speak like one. When he finally puts on the suit he's still cussing F-this and F-that. Which makes no sense, because he's still acting like a street punk and not like the other Kingsman. Anyway everybody loves this film so just disregard what I think.

Kingsman The Secret Service is an over the top, action packed two hour spy-film that you absolutely must watch. I went into the movie having never seen anything like the James Bond movies or anything regarding British spies, but when I watched this movie I left feeling like I needed to see it again. It stars Taron Egerton who alongside Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson give wonderful performances. The story is all over the place but in a very good way. Sure, it may be absolutely crazy, but it's the kind of crazy that keeps you watching. The action is delivered very upfront, right in your face and everywhere all around you. It can become quite gorey, especially in the infamous church scene, which by the way was all in one masterful take, but I can't deny how well executed it was. That scene alone is what has made this movie so iconic and I wish more movies broke out of the mold and followed what Kingsman has done to cement itself forever in the hearts of it's audience. Instant classic. 5/5

The Kingsman is a movie directed by Matthew Vaughn and it is one of my all time favourite movies, a definite 5/5. This movie is filled with so much action and really dives into what it would be like to be in a secret society. In my opinion this movie has brilliant cinematography and totally changes what you think a camera can do. The Kingsman completely redefines action sequences with its spectacular camera work and use of CGI to make it feel surreal. The plot will remind people of a classic Bond film with special gadgets galore. I highly recommend you watch this movie as it has something for everyone. Humor, secret agents, and characters that some people will really connect too. I enjoy this movie but if you are not a fan of gore or violence i wouldn’t recommend this film as many of the scenes in The Kingsman feature violence, blood, and explosions. The music choice will intrigue anyone. In my opinion, Matthew Vaughn used classic music we have all heard before in such a way that makes the scene so much more enjoyable and almost comedic. That ladies and gentlemen is my comprehensive review of The Kingsman, The Secret Service. 5/5.

One of the best movies I've ever watched. Fun, good acting, good direction, just the right amount of special effects, good plot and great directing. It's also quite creative in concept and storyline. This is a really fun one for individuals, dates and all kinds of company. Go watch this and you'll be thankful you did.

Comic book version actually bit more subversive.
However, I liked the Pomp & Circumstance song with WTF special effect to counter villian's master plan or the running joke as barroom tosser aka protagonist's mother's loser boyfriend ignored lackey warning as protagonist locked the pub for a sweet science replay just like his predecessor.
Film had just as much class, snark & fun as the graphic novel version as it made fun of the gentlemanly British character or My Fair Lady treatment on the working class teenager.
A lot of nods & Easter Eggs with past James Bond films.
Colin Firth made convincing job as secret agent.
Film tilted toward brain than brawn & gadgets.

It's got violence, comedy, action and a whole lot of style - I recommend it for a fun and entertaining night in.

If you love a good-old-fashioned spy movie with a tonne of action mixed with My Fair Lady, then this is the movie for you!

I'm sure I'm the only person that didn't like this film. A waste of my time, trash talk. Only bright spot was seeing Jack Davenport for all of 3 seconds.

Gotta say, it was watching Colin Firth kick arse that made this movie for me.

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self."

The premise was good - we are all prone to violence on some level - but not as well developed in the main character. The family bully and wife beater needed to get his recompense and be thrown into jail to top it off, but got off fairly lightly. It was over the top in violent "entertainment" in the rest of the movie and I felt violated and defiled throughout - the language reflected our total human degradation. Senseless rear-end of an ending as well ... but maybe that was the point for this kind of human pollution.

My original quotes have gone missing, but there are plenty good one in IMDb:

Harry Hart: [Quoting Ernest Hemingway] There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.

Harry Hart: Since 1849, Kingsman Tailors have clothed the world's most powerful individuals. In 1919, a great number of them had lost their heirs to World War I. That meant a lot of money going uninherited. And a lot of powerful men with the desire to preserve peace and protect life. Our founders realized that they could channel that wealth and influence for the greater good. And so began our adventure. An independent international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion. Without the politics and bureaucracy that undermine the intelligence of government-run spy organisations. A suit is the modern gentleman's armour. And the Kingsman agents are the new knights.
