A psychiatrist suggests ways in which confronting and resolving problems, a painful process most people try to avoid, can lead to greater self-understanding and spiritual growth. Life is difficult he says, and the journey to spiritual growth is a long one. Here he helps us explore the very loving nature of relationships and leads us toward a new serenity and fullness of life. He helps us learn how to distinguish dependency from love, how to become a more sensitive parent, and ultimately how to become one's own true self.

An excellent book. I found the chapters exploring love especially helpful to finally understand the difference between the feeling of love and the action of love.

Unlike many books of this sort, it isn't dry or boring at all. It's quite an interesting read, and taught me more about myself and others. It's well worth a read.
