[The toast of New Orleans]: A tale of a Cajun fisherman who leaves the bayou and falls in love with a beautiful New Orleans opera star.
[That midnight Kiss]: Aspiring opera singer Prudence Budell would like to have a tenor who looks the part of the tenor role. When Johnny Donnetti, a singing truck driver is discovered, she gets her wish. A happy ending is not far away when romance blossoms between Prudence and Johnny.

ABOVE AVERAGE 1950 film (The Toast of New Orleans). I enjoyed the setting, the film/drama, and the Mario Lanza character (and his sidekick).
But my personal tastes find actual operatic singing (especially the high range female soprano vocal techniques) unappealing, even annoying - didn't make it to the end. YMMV...
