"From two [authors] of crime fiction comes a...thriller about family, murder, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried. It's been more than a year since LAPD detective Jacob Lev learned the remarkable truth about his family, and he's not coping well...Then he comes across the file for a gruesome unsolved murder that brings the two halves of his life into startling collision. Finding the killer will take him halfway around the world, to Paris-- the city of romance, but also of gritty streets, behind the lights. It's a dangerous search for truth that plunges him into the past."-- Provided by publisher.

I am a Kellerman fan, probably more Faye than Jonathan/Jesse.

This book was a challenge. I kept at it until the end however still am scratching my head saying "whaaaat?" Wonderment came up frequently...and I didn't want to go back and try to figure out what was really happening by re-reading. So I plowed through it...and "plowing" is the best description. I couldn't summarize the plot if you held a gun to my head.

Hard to get into. While I am a Kellerman fan, this book just not as engaging.

Thought I'd give the second Golem book a try but while the writing is good I just don't enjoy this series or the lead characters. Sorry, otherwise a Kellerman fan.

I like Johnathan Kellerman's Alex Deleware series and I've read all of them. His wife Kay's books are too Jewish for me, don't like them. The son takes after his mother, not his dad. I couldn't finish this book, took it back before the half.
